CNN —Angela Chao, CEO of shipping company Foremost Group and sister of former US cabinet secretary Elaine Chao, died after her car became submerged in a pond on a Central Texas ranch last month, according to the Wall Street Journal and a report from Blanco County Emergency Services obtained by the Austin American-Statesman. Chao’s Tesla Model X SUV went over an embankment and into a pond when she put the car in reverse instead of drive during a three-point turn shortly before midnight on February 10, the Wall Street Journal reports. According to the Wall Street Journal, a longer cable was eventually garnered, and the car was pulled from the pond. First responders soon retrieved Chao from her vehicle and began resuscitation efforts but were unsuccessful, according to the Wall Street Journal. Neither the Blanco County Emergency Services, Blanco County Sheriff’s Office, nor Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s office have responded to CNN’s request for comment and additional information.

"Releasing the reports, videos and other information prior to the completion of the investigation would interfere with the investigation and possible prosecution of this matter," the sheriff's office wrote. CNN —A man set himself on fire outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC, on Sunday, according to a statement from the Washington Metropolitan Police Department. The adult male was transported by DC Fire and EMS to a local hospital and remains in critical condition, MPD said. By the time firefighters were dispatched to the scene, the fire had already been extinguished by US Secret Service, according to Vito Maggiolo, a public information officer from DC Fire. CNN —One person has died and at least five people were injured as a vehicle crashed into an Austin medical center emergency room Tuesday evening, according to the facility’s chief medical officer. Christa Stedman of the Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said the child in critical condition had life-threatening injuries while the adult’s injuries were potentially life threatening. One patient was admitted to St. David’s North Austin Medical Center, where the crash occurred in the ER lobby, Chief Medical Officer Peter DeYoung said. Eight patients who were at the hospital and not injured in the vehicle crash were also being transferred to other hospitals, DeYoung said. A Fulton County DA's Office investigator "accidentally" shot herself at the courthouse. The woman shot herself in the leg on Friday, according to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office. "The shooting was an accidental discharge by a Fulton County District Attorney's Office investigator who wounded herself. "A Fulton County Sheriff's Office deputy responded and administered aid until EMS arrived," a press release from the sheriff's office also said, ABC News reported. The Fulton County courthouse was the site of Donald Trump and his co-defendants' arraignments after he was charged for his alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

"Ma'am, I'm a pilot in a military aircraft, and I ejected. When the dispatcher asks the pilot about the cause of his 2,000-foot fall, he responds: "An aircraft failure."
